Vicki Schoonbeek

Vicki is a retired telephone worker (30 years) and Realtor (12 years) who has enjoyed living in Ladysmith for more than 40 years. Her love of cribbage first drew her to the Seniors Centre, and she was instrumental in helping the Centre reopen after COVID—determined to get everyone back together around the crib boards! As President, her goal is to increase awareness of the Centre and ensure it remains an inclusive, safe, and welcoming place for all members.

Wendy McLeod

An enthusiastic quilter, Wendy loves to create and sew blankets for friends and loved ones. When she isn't quilting, you can find her either gardening or riding her ebike.

Linda Edwards

Linda finds joy in gardening, crafting, and quilting, creating beauty with her hands and imagination. She also loves biking, embracing every opportunity to explore the outdoors and stay active.

Rose-Marie Ariko

As a retired School Division Secretary-Treasurer enjoys looking after the finances of the Society.  The curling broom, golf clubs, cross country skis, fishing rod have been retired as well so now in her spare time enjoys gardening, mahjongg, and keeping up with her grandchildren.​

Kelly Weaver

Kelly enjoys cooking, baking, gardening and spending time with her grandkids. She loves relaxing outside by her Koi pond and gardening. She's an enthusiastic cook, especially when her experiments put smiles on people's faces. Kelly is always happy to welcome new volunteers to the kitchen!

Blair Parcels

Blair grew up enjoying sports, card games, and outdoor activities — interests that continue to keep him active today. He enjoys taking advantage of everything Vancouver Island has to offer, particularly fishing and gardening. An enthusiastic crib player, Blair can often be found at the Seniors Centre's Thursday crib games.

Joan Kossey

Joan has been a resident of Ladysmith since 1978, having moved to the area from Quesnel. She enjoys playing Mahjong, cribbage and bingo and encourages new and current members to join in these and other games. Her favourite sports are golf and bowling. Joan is always willing to lend a hand at Centre events and activities, helping wherever she is needed.

Eric Nernberg

Eric served in the Canadian Air Force before building a career in human resources management and health facility administration. A Ladysmith resident since 2022, he previously lived in Port Alberni, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec. He enjoys gardening, playing cards, and daily walks with his Chihuahua.
